FLOOR PLAN

Once you step through the open and light-filled entry you realize that this is more than your average modern home. Folding walls open the home up, blurring the boundary between indoor and outdoor living in the best possible way, and the majestic views of the Flatirons and Front Range will make you want to linger.

The restrained exterior material palette (copper siding, stucco, and bronze metal clad accents) accentuates the home’s bold forms and angles and requires zero maintenance. The interior palette echoes the simple use of materials with walnut floors, oak and grey cabinets. Restraint is contrasted with whimsy, however with unexpected pops of bold color throughout the home: a blue ceiling and walls wrap around the kitchen and centrally located stair articulating the service side of the home; a child’s bedroom with orange wrapping down the ceiling and back wall.

Not to be missed, the roof top deck captures 360 degree views of the front range, downtown Boulder and magnificent sunsets.

The innovative design has garnered attention from a multitude of publications including citation on Dwell.

The stacking double “V” design scheme creates three internal courtyards: entry, outdoor living space, and service space.

The “V” form to the south creates the main entrance and front yard, with impressive views of the Flatirons from the living room and master bedroom. The “V” form to the north creates the indoor-outdoor social space and overlooks Mt. Sanitas and Longs Peak in the distance. Accordion doors and multiple sliders provide one continuous indoor-outdoor experience with the living room, dining room and kitchen all opening up to the outdoor bar/lounge, dining area and grassy play area.

The third “V” form is more rectilinear in shape, serving as the back-of-house with much needed storage space. The mass of storage and garage was broken up by creating three distinct spaces: the main garage houses the everyday commuting cars and bikes, a second garage for the camper, kayaks and other secondary toys, and a third works as a work shop.
